Join Our Team as a Maintenance Manager at Falmouth Harbour.
Starting Salary: £30,000-£33,000 – dependent upon experience qualifications, training.
Reports To: Deputy/Assistant Harbour Master – Conservancy and MaintenanceABOUT US
Our purpose is to safely manage Falmouth Harbour in a responsible and professional manner; to facilitate sustainable development and long-term prosperity of the harbour to the benefit of its users and the wider community.JOB OVERVIEW
As the Maintenance Manager, you will lead and line manage our dedicated Maintenance Team, ensuring the harbour’s infrastructure is professionally maintained and operational. Your role includes overseeing preventative and general maintenance tasks, operating harbour maintenance craft, and responding to emergency and pollution incidents.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Management
Line manage the Maintenance Team.
Provide guidance, support, and training to team members.
Conduct performance evaluations and appraisals.Marine Asset Maintenance
Oversee winter maintenance and inspection of 600+ leisure moorings.
Manage summer maintenance of navigational aids such as buoys and beacons.
Ensure annual and ongoing maintenance of the harbour’s vessels and infrastructure.Resource Coordination
Allocate resources effectively across various projects.
Plan and deliver small to medium-scale marine projects.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures.Safety Compliance
Enforce adherence to all Health and Safety, Port Marine Safety Code (PMSC) and any other relevant regulations.Required Skills and Experience
Proven leadership and communication skills.
Extensive seafaring experience, ideally within the maintenance/commercial sector.
Expertise in marine and land-based equipment maintenance.
